In 1989, the late Seiichiro Doi who is the 3rd owner, came up with the idea of recreating the Ochazuke
which was served in the early Showa era at the former main store (current president’s house ) facing the Ohara Street (Saba Street),
and opened a store called “Tsukemono Chaya Hanajiri” in the current Ohara Main Store.

With the desire to make Shibazuke to be enjoyed more casually and in a way that has never been imagined, we are developing the “Kamado-Takitategohan-Doi (Kamado freshly cooked rice Doi)”. Seiichiro Doi, the third owner of DOI SHIBAZUKE HONPO, recreated the business of serving Ochazuke at the front of the former main store facing the street, and you can enjoy Shibazuke made with great care with freshly cooked rice.
To make Shibazuke to be enjoyed more deliciously, we combine it with not only Japanese but also Western taste, expanding its possibility by applying it to Barazushi and sandwiches.
In addition, we continue to make use of our honed strengths in the technique of pickling by proposing the goodness of pickled foods other than Shibazuke, such as Saikyo-zuke.
The villagers of Ohara 1,000 years ago might be surprised, but I'm sure they would be delighted hearing about our innovation. Please come by all means.
